Craig Levein Kicks-Off Charity Kiltwalk

Scotland Manager Craig Levein dropped into Robin House Children’s Hospice in Balloch on Tuesday to officially launch the TACC Kiltwalk charity fundraiser taking place on 10 April 2011.

The Kiltwalk organised by the Tartan Army Children’s Charity (TACC) raised over £100,000 in 2010 and it’s hoped that the 2011 event will repeat that success.

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) which runs Scotland’s two children’s hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch, is the charity partner for the event and will receive ten per cent of all the proceeds raised from the walk.

The Kiltwalk is a 26 mile sponsored walk leaving from the pitch at Hampden Park, to the town of Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond, where Robin House Children’s Hospice is based.

Craig Levein said

“It is a pleasure to launch the second annual Kiltwalk organised by the Tartan Army Children’s Charity which I am sure will be another huge success. I want to encourage everyone to get involved, dust off their kilts and sign up for this excellent event on 10 April 2011 that will benefit CHAS and a number of other children’s charities both in Scotland and overseas.”

Carey McEvoy, from TACC said:

“This year the Kiltwalk is going to be bigger and better than before. With Real Radio supporting the event, Craig Levein’s backing and CHAS as our charity partner, we are on track to raise a fantastic amount of money while getting some exercise and having lots of fun at the same time.”

Roslyn Neely, Director of fundraising and Communications at CHAS added:

“Every penny raised for CHAS through the Kiltwalk will help us continue providing vital care and support for families across Scotland who have children with life-shortening conditions.”
